Thanks for joining the Cool California community! We hope that you can work together with fellow people concerned about the environment and reduce your carbon footprint!

Here are some helpful getting started steps:

1. Invite your friends to help reduce their footprint as well.
2. Calculate your carbon footprint or make adjustments to it.
3. View the available communities on the site and join the discussions.
4. Adjust your carbon footprint reduction goal.
5. See some of the most environmentally friendly users on the site.
6. Track your progress towards reaching your goal. (Coming Soon!)

    Spaces are allowed; punctuation is not allowed except for periods, hyphens, and underscores.

Setting a reduction goal will help you track your progress toward protecting the climate! Our carbon calculator will help you calculate your footprint and learn ways to reduce it, or check out resources that will help you save money and help the planet.

Tracking carbon footprints and carbon footprint reduction commitments

Among other resources CoolCalifornia.org contains advanced carbon footprint tracking and management tools for households and small businesses. Entering information about your household or business, such as location, number of people, and annual consumption of energy, food goods and services, helps the online software calculate direct and indirect annual greenhouse gas emissions (carbon footprints) related to your household or business.

Information entered by users is stored in session variables in the user’s internet browser, not on the CoolCalifornia.org server, unless “I agree” is selected in the following statement:
