Thank you for reviewing the Local Government Toolkit! Our intent is that this online resource provides a "one-stop-shop" of guidance and tools to assist local governments to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and save money. Your feedback is critical to make sure that the resources we provide are useful to cities and counties taking action to reduce the impacts of climate change.

California Air Resources Board (ARB) staff presented a status report on the Local Government Toolkit during the May 28, 2009 Board Meeting. There are a few components proposed as future elements of the toolkit including development of a decision support tool that would allow cities and counties to prepare customized climate action plans, a financial wizard that would make funding opportunities easier to access, videos of case studies and peer networking for cities and counties to interact with one another and with residents & businesses. A Climate Leadership Recognition Program is also under development through a partnership with the Institute for Local Government where cities and counties would receive recognition for reduced emissions.
